Northern Coal Skink

A medium-sized skink reaching a maximum snout vent length of 2.8 inches, and a maximum total length of 7 inches 

How to identify:

Coloration:

 
Broad tan to brown middorsal stripe on body and tail bordered by light dorsolateral stripes;
 
4 scale rows between scales bearing dorsolateral light stripes
The Northern Coal Skink does not have a dewlap 

Diet:

Size:

Northern Coal Skinks can grow to be 5-7in long including the tail 

Habitat:

The Northern Coal Skink is a threatened speices and very little is known about their habitat in Virginia 

Range of habitat:

Northern Coal Skinks can be found in the Northern parts of the United States of America
